Beyond The Clinic

Last week I had the opportunity to visit the Australian Headquarters of a hearing aid company. I am grateful for the experience as I have gained insight into what audiological care also encompasses beyond the audiology clinic and appointment.

There is of course a world beyond the clinic for the individual, which is always at the forefront of an audiologist’s mind, but I hadn't really thought too much about what happens at the other end, ie. at the lab.

So to meet the people behind-the-scenes and also see what happens to hearing aids - from when they get ordered or sent away for repairs and also to see the process involved in ensuring that ear moulds and custom hearing aids are the most comfortable fit and audiologically appropriate…

I am reminded that audiological care extends beyond the clinic and we really are all in this together to provide quality hearing health care for people who seek it.
